Context

I worked on Hilton China-related communications across two connected areas: strengthening the appeal of Hilton Honors and direct booking, and supporting Chinese Chef Month as a lifestyle-led dining campaign.

Challenge

For Hilton Honors, the challenge was to make membership and direct booking benefits feel more tangible to Chinese travelers who were used to comparing value across multiple booking platforms.
For Chinese Chef Month, the challenge was to move hotel dining beyond a functional restaurant message and make it feel closer to culture, taste, hospitality, and everyday consumer interest.

Impact

The work helped Hilton communicate two important business priorities through more engaging consumer language: loyalty growth through Hilton Honors, and brand affinity through hotel dining experiences. Together, the two workstreams showed how hospitality communications can support both conversion and brand image.

Insight

Chinese travelers do not respond to loyalty benefits only because they are told the benefits exist. They need to feel that membership gives them better control, better value, and a smarter way to travel.
For dining, consumers are more likely to engage when hotel food is framed through chefs, ingredients, seasonal stories, local taste, and the experience behind the meal.

Strategy

The work connected Hilton’s hospitality strengths with consumer-facing storytelling. For Hilton Honors, the communication direction positioned direct booking as a smarter choice for travelers who know how to get more from their stay. For Chinese Chef Month, the campaign used food and chef-led content to bring hotel dining closer to lifestyle media, social audiences, and potential guests.
